Glycol Dehydration Unit Operation

Glycol Dehydration Unit Operation | Process Flow Diagram

Better dehydration results and significant saving are achieved when dehydration systems are operated properly. Efficiently operated glycol dehydration systems require good understanding of dehydration process, process variables and dew point. We must also understand the operations of the individual components within the system.

Inlet Gas Separator
Let’s start with the inlet separator. The inlet gas stream first enters the gas dehydration unit through an inlet gas separator. Here free liquids are removed, wet gas leave the separator through a mist eliminator. Which eliminate almost all carrier free liquids to the contactor column.

                                                                 Daily Check-up
The inlet separator should check regularly. Overloading the inlet separator causes excess liquid carrier over into the contactor column which cause foaming. Therefore for proper operation it is important to rotationally monitor liquid levels and there controls.
